  • Pantomime -- the art of showing emotions, actions, feelings, etc., by actions (without talking)
  • Monologue -- a scene for one actor who is speaking outloud to him- or herself, talking to another character or talking to the audience
  • Projection -- speaking loudly
  • Dialogue -- The part in a script that is meant to be read aloud
  • Blocking -- where an actor stands onstage and how they move onstage
  • Upstaging -- when an actor stands upstage of another actor causing them to turn their back to the audience
  • Method Acting -- actors identify as closely as possible with the character by bringing in experiences from their own lives
  • Exposition -- in a play, the descrption that gives the audience the backgrounds of the characters
  • Visualization -- used to make your character come to life, so that you can picture your character
  • Improvisation -- drama that is created on the spur of the moment; basically, it is making it up as you go along
  • Stage Picture -- the visual picture of all actors on stage
  • Motivation -- what drives a character to do waht they do: sometimes this is obvious, other times it is tough for the actor to figure out.
